Eden Restaurants was incorporated in the state of Texas in 2005 and is headquartered in the city of The Woodlands. It is a new company of restaurants that will provide the most passionate approach to food and service in the North Houston and surrounding areas. Our first restaurant is Eden Café. What will set Eden Restaurants apart from the competition is our commitment to keep the customer at the center of everything we do and every decision we make. Eden Restaurants is privately held, owned and operated by Ulises Larramendi and his family.

Ulises is from Cuba and his family moved to Houston in 1977. He has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. He started as a dishwasher while in high school at a Marriott cafeteria in 1980 and like they say, “the rest is history.” He learned to be a waiter at Mama’s Café and later sharpened his serving skills at Pappasito’s Cantina (where he met his wife, Maria). There he began his management career, which has led him to realizing his life-long dream of opening his own restaurant. In 1993 he joined Johnny Carraba and became a Managing Partner, leaving a few years later to be a Director of Operations for Au Bon Pain Bakery Café in the South Florida region. He has worked for Palm Restaurants over the last seven years, first as a General Manager and later as a Regional Director of Operations. Also, he’s been a Servsafe and FMP instructor (Foodservice Management Professional) on behalf of the National Restaurant Association certifying managers on the highest and latest standards of sanitation.

Maria was born in Venezuela and her family moved to Houston in 1979. She was also in the restaurant and hospitality industry for seven years. She started at Luby’s Cafeteria in 1986 as a coffee cart hostess and fell in love with the restaurant atmosphere. From there she moved on to Pappasito’s Cantina and was a part of their team for 4 years, first as a hostess and then waitress, office assistant and Floor Supervisor. She then worked for The Ritz Carlton Hotel as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Food & Beverage for two years.

They are both graduates from the University of Houston, have three children and have lived in the Montgomery County area for the past four years. Ulises and Maria will manage Eden Café full time with a family atmosphere where you’ll feel right at home. They believe in having a fair, positive thinking, pro-active, hands on approach to management, and enjoy teamwork and full staff cooperation based on honesty and mutual respect.
